This is very true for me, and I realize it whenever I look back at my old notes.

When I was little the world was so colorful and vibrant and I had strong emotions elicited about the most mundane things like the rainbow caused by the sun refracting through the patterned glass window or a new video game (like the first time playing Minecraft). Later this all wore off and the world seemed to get really dull and boring. Being in college now, I’ve done lots of interesting projects and achieved lots of great things which has changed that, but I can tell this excitement will likely too wear off. But I think there is way more in the world to learn than I possibly ever even could so I should use this phenomenon to my advantage and pursue greater achievements and constantly learn new things.

This story is about a chain of paper clips, which is about as interesting as it sounds. In the sixth grade, I had a couple of small FedEx Office boxes which contained various items such as a mini stapler, sticky notes, tape, and rubber bands. In this box was also a large number of paper clips. I often got bored in class, and one day while messing around with these paper clips I discovered that they could be easily linked together. A couple of days went by, and soon enough I had assembled an absolutely massive chain of paper clips. My teachers weren’t at all bothered by what I had made and were actually impressed. One day after lunch however, I was confronted by a school administrator who pulled me aside to lecture me about how extremely dangerous this chain supposedly was to myself and others. He then confiscated it and I never saw it gain. I assume it was thrown in the trash. Rest in peace, paper clip chain.

The first three months of school are always the worst. Nothing happens between September and late November besides work.

Today I’ve installed all sorts of software on both my phone and computer to help me stay off social media. I’ve read about how effective it is at improving your life and productivity, so I’m giving it a try. Ok, I lied, I’ve been trying for months to stop but I haven’t been successful yet.

I just started doing the “other thing” today as well. I’ve never gotten far enough to determine if it really does work yet.

I’ve been wanting to write something in here for some time now but I have been too busy with homework. Today the power went out after a storm that wasn’t even that bad came by. It took them almost 4 hours for the electricity to be restored and for me to do my ORGEO homework.

Not much has happened between Monday and today, but on Sunday I went to Austin with my parents to visit my brother at UT Austin. We didn’t get back home until 3 am and there was some rough weather on the way. About half way back we stopped to get some beef jerky and there happened to be a bunch of rednecks engaging in a shouting war at the 7-Eleven parking lot. Fun.

A new Notebook… again. I’m abandoning the big blue one because it’s so damn bulky and heavy. It was also really weird at the beginning and I didn’t want that cringy stuff. I plan on using this for writing down information and the things that I’ve always usually written.

For several years I have been trying to figure out where I am going, who I want to be, what I want to do. For whatever reason, I didn’t figure it out right away. Round 1: Yellow, doubt

I see the kitchen. Clean, peaceful. It is early. Flying plates with pancakes on top. It seems that ghosts have invaded the kitchen. I quickly leave the house and I try not to wake the family up. The ghosts escape the home as the sun rises, everything left looking un-touched. The family wakes up and eats breakfast, but the pancakes are missing.

I Remember… August 17th, 2011, I found some sort of video editor called “NCH, Videopad Video Editor”, I got the 40 day free trial and started messing around. It was so easy to use, I made a 5 minute video in less than 20 minutes! I added effects and transitions between clips and it was so fun! The next day I made a video called “Darth Vader Breaks In”, and it was about Darth Vader breaking windows to steal things and escape. I got a bit sad when the trial ended but the exact day my friends came over, I had found a Videopad Video Editor installation CD in the mail. Me and my friends made crazy videos about “killer clowns” and “The Thing” which includes a vacuum cleaner that shoots cans of Slim Jims out the window and random explosions on the CD player. Now, I thought that I was stupid after that but even now it’s still funny!
